Project Description
CMC for Ceramics industry as an excipient, plasticiser and enhancer for blanks. It is used in ceramics base glazes and top glazes to keep the glaze in a stable dispersion. Used in printing glaze is mainly applied to its thickening, bonding and dispersing properties.
Function and application of CMC in ceramics base and top glazes.
I. Functions of CMC in ceramics base glaze and top glaze
1. To keep the glaze in a stable dispersion.
2. Improve the surface tension of the glaze.
3. Slowing down the diffusion of water from the glaze into the blank.
4. Increasing the smoothness of the glaze.
5. Avoiding cracking and printing fractures in the conveying process due to a decrease in the strength of the billet after glazing.
6. Reduce the glaze pinhole after sintering.
II. Application of CMC in ceramic blanks.
CMC in ceramic blanks as a blank excipient, plasticizer, enhancer, adding the right amount of CMC in the blank can increase the bonding force of the blank, the blank is easy to shape, so that the flexural strength increases by 2-3 times, and improve the stability of the blank, improve the rate of superior quality of ceramics and reduce the cost of post-processing.
Due to the addition of CMC, the moisture in the billet material is evenly and constantly issued, preventing drying and cracking. Especially applied to large size floor tiles and polished tile blanks, the effect is more obvious.
III. CMC in the application of printing glaze.
CMC is an excellent stabilizer, strong suspension and dispersion ability, insoluble matter less, high transparency, and excellent acid and alkali resistance and salt resistance, to ensure fast dissolution in the printing glaze, effectively reduce the number of times to clean up the printing network, reduce colour difference, and to ensure the stability of the printing glaze and bleeding glaze storage process.
